Love art? Then why not take the family to the largest art museum in the country! The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (or LACMA as it is often known) has over 100,000 fascinating objects and art works dating all the way back from ancient times (in other words - a REALLY long time ago!) to present day.
The trick here is not to try to see everything - there is just so much! You can always come back and see the rest. Try and spend between 20 minutes and an hour in each gallery, and have a look at what there is before you start and pick the things that interest you the most! There are so many different themes that there will always be something for those art loving families!
Kids, if you see a picture you are drawn to, have a close look at it. Sit on a seat, or even the floor, and really look at it. What do you see? What does it make you feel? Art is about expression, so if you ever produced any paintings, you could be creating and expressing yourself just as much as these artists in the gallery have!
If you want to release some energy there are fun sculpture gardens and park areas for you to have a bit of a run around in! And if you want to get a bit creative yourself, you can visit the Boone Children's Gallery which is open until 5pm, where you can grab a paintbrush and paint ANYTHING you like! It's your time to express yourself! You can also read books and just hang out making new friends!
There are ongoing exhibits as well as temporary ones, as well as a range of public programs throughout the year, in film, music and of course education.
They also have daily tours on a whole heap of topics so make sure you keep and eye on those! You won't want to miss out!
