Kids, are you excited to visit the ONLY drive through safari in the entire state of Florida? Yep! That means that you don't have to travel ALL the way to those grand plains of Africa to see those incredible wild animals in a natural habitat - just head to Lion Country Safari!
Lion Country Safari is where you can spend the day with over 900 animals, and some of them might just come up to your car too! There are species from all over the globe, so not only can kids come face to face with some incredible creatures they might have seen in books, but they can learn about them too!
The best part about Lion Country Safari, is that it's also SO much more than a safari! There are animal displays and animal encounters, which add that little extra special touch to those unforgettable moments, as well as animal feeding areas. You heard right! Have you ever wanted to hand feed a giraffe? You can here! You might be the first kid in your class to do so!
If THAT wasn't enough, there are 5 rides within the safari, as well as a water sprayground - after all, we know how hot those Florida summers can be! With food and shopping to top it off, it's no wonder it's such a popular family day out!
There are two types of safaris you can do at Lion Country Safari - the drive through, and the walk through.
The drive through is where you can see some pretty amazing species, from the grand African Lion, to the fast ostrich, to wildebeest, impala, and even rhinos! Some of these species are endangered, so kids also get an invaluable education on conservation too.
Then, the walk through safari! SafariWorld is where you can take a boat ride on the African Queen, and learn about spider monkeys and siamangs that inhabit Lake Shanalee, or perhaps you want to pan for gold? Don't miss the carousel either, and the feeding area for those cute domestic animals!
