About this activity

Why spend all that time and money traveling the world to see all the creatures on our planet, when you can just head to Lake Superior Zoo - where the animals of the world come to you!

Lake Superior Zoo is home to hundreds of native and exotic species, where kids can have amazing animal encounters, learn about these amazing creatures, and see them up close.

Set across 16 acres at the base of Spirit Mountain, it's a WILD day out for all ages!

There are a number of exhibits across the zoo, each showcasing beautiful creatures from different regions. You can explore those native to Minnesota, and those from the other side of the world such as Australia and Africa.

Some roar. Some hiss. Some chirp. And some are silent. But they all have the one thing in common - they LOVE visitors, which is where you come in!

You can come face to face with swamp monkeys, or watch those snapping turtles play. You can see spot the bright and colorful fish and corals in the reef tank.

There are even smaller, scaly friends such as lizards and snakes!

An invaluable lesson for kids at Lake Superior Zoo is why we should look after our animals and our environment, and when they visit creatures such as the snow leopard and the Amur tiger - two of the most endangered creatures on the planet - they are really in for something special.

They can meet those grand African lions, or check out the bouncing kangaroos from down under!

Kids can even enjoy hands on experiences in the Barnyard, where llamas, goats, sheep, prairie dogs and more await!

Are you ready for your WILD day out at Lake Superior Zoo? Let's go!
