About this activity

There is so much to learn and explore when you delve into the past, and a trip to the Lake Quinault Museum in Washington State will show you why. Lake Quinault Museum has a number of exhibits that showcase the rich history and culture of the area.

Your experience will start in the downstairs Great Room, where kids can see two Native American racing canoes up close. At over 20 feet in length, they're pretty impressive!

Also in the Great Room are Native American baskets, as well as a "touching and petting" display which is great for kids who want to enjoy some hands-on learning!

Step deeper into the past in the Old Time Kitchen, where you can imagine life in the early 1900s. Maybe you might even feel right at home!

"Timber!" Even that cry resonated with those over a century ago, and it's here you can learn about the industry that made the Olympic Peninsula famous. You can even see actual tools that were used to make some of the equipment!

Did you know that in an old farmhouse, space was never wasted? That's felt even more when you visit the Children's Attic Bedroom, where you can see vintage dolls hosting a tea party. Check out the dolls, kids. Are they quite different to the toys that you are used to today?

With a Homestead Room, and a Home Arts Room, and more to explore, the Lake Quinault Museum really takes you down a path through the history books, where the stories come to life right in front of your eyes!
