About this activity

Kids, just look down at your hands...do you have green thumbs? If you do, you might just want to head to JC Raulston Arboretum on your next family day out!

JC Raulston Arboretum is a nationally acclaimed garden, that is also home to one of the LARGEST and most diverse collections of landscape plants, that have actually been adapted for landscape use in the Southeast USA. Pretty cool!

Kids - this means that these plants have been especially adapted to conditions in North Carolina, and are collected and evaluated to try and find superior plants for use in southern landscapes.

JC Raulston Arboretum also has a host of gardens that you can explore, and learn from. There is an amazing energy-saving terrace, and a beautiful Asian Valley featuring Asian trees that thrive in North Carolina.

if you want to be around those delicate butterflies, then the Butterfly Garden is the place to be, of course! It's a favorite place for kids!

The rose garden is a place where the senses can go wild as you surround yourself with the scent of the world's favorite flower, or you can see how plants can take on a deeper meaning in a contemplative Zen Japanese Garden.

Perennial gardens, winter gardens, paradise gardens....it's about the beauty of nature at this North Carolina arboretum.

Are you ready to make those green thumbs even greener?
