Opened back in 1983, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame features an impressive collection of racing vehicles and memorabilia, some of which dates right back to 1902!
The collection is valued at over $15 million, so you can just imagine some of the amazing artifacts and vehicles that you will see!
You can explore the museum via a walking, self-guided tour that takes around an hour to complete, but can take up to three depending on how much you want to really immerse yourselves in the exhibits.
Along with the three exhibit halls and pavilion area, the museum also includes a library with over 14,000 volumes of books, magazines and other research materials - it's also one of the most comprehensive collection of motorsports information in the world!
Some of the highlights within this Alabama museum include the fastest boat in the world, and some of the fastest motorcars in the world (including a Talladega), and even infamous crashed vehicles.

The International Motorsports Hall of Fame & Museum is located between Birmingham and Atlanta, just north of Talladega, Alabama. The Hall of Fame & Museum is located on Speedway Boulevard just off I-20 and lies adjacent to the Talladega Superspeedway, "the World's Fastest Superspeedway." Take exit 168 eastbound on I-20, or exit 173 westbound and follow the signs. Lodging and dining facilities are available at I-20 exits in Lincoln, Pell City, Oxford/Anniston and eight miles south on Highway 77 in Talladega.

They offer a special museum tour rates to educational institutions. A trip to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame is a great place for kids or adults to learn about the history through motorsports!
The Speedway runs an 12-seat, handicap-accessible van tour every ½ hour on days the race track is not closed for racing or testing activities. These tours begin at 9:00 am and run every ½ hour until 5:00 pm CT. The tour lasts approximately 20 minutes and is narrated by the van driver.
