About this activity

Lake Sakakawea is an amazing part of North Dakota, and Indian Hills Resort has been a huge part of that for families and the memories they create, for over 30 years! (Pretty impressive!)

Located on Lake Sakakawea, this family fun resort has camping, cabins and lodges ready for all families to use as a base to get out an explore the amazing nature surrounding them.

You're on a lake? Then of course there will be fishing! The famous Northern Pike, Walleye, Salmon and Small Mouth Bass are all ready and waiting for your family to try and snag them with your fishing skills! There are endless beaches for you to explore, and boat ramps on the north side of the lake so you can relax on the water and take in the nature around you.

Love a bit of history? Did you know that Lewis & Clark visited the area too? You can re-trace their steps by taking in the trail site - nice to get some education in there for the kids too! Why not!

Indian Hills Resort also offers a chance for the family to head out and look for wildlife, and check out the numerous species of birds in the area. With 1600 miles of shoreline and 168 miles of lake, there is plenty of nature to explore!

Of course, Indian Hills Resort is a place to camp out for a bit, so we better tell you about that! They have a number of styles of lodgings just for you, with modern facilities, camping spots to log camping cabins. Of course, it wouldn't be an experience without picnic tables and BBQ grills outside your door. Can you imagine cooking up the fish you just caught with the starts all out and bright above you?

Camping and outdoor fun for those nature loving families!
