It's the wonders of space and the universe that will fill your next family day out if you visit Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii!

Here, the final frontier is waiting to be explored!

Within the astronomy center, you'll find a host of exhibits that cover a range of fascinating themes, all of which can teach kids about that big mass all around us!

The exhibits are divided into two major areas: "Origins" and "Explorations." Within each of these areas kids will learn about Hawaiian and scientific beliefs, theories and practices related to Maunakea, the stars, and the world around us.

One minute you'll be exploring the birth of the cosmos, then the next you might be voyaging through some of the greatest achievements of human exploration.

Throughout the day, you might also be lucky enough to experience live presentations on a range of topics.

Then of course, you have the planetarium! Here, amazing shows are right above you as the wonders of the stars and the planets come to life. It's a pretty incredible experience!

So why not explore the magical world of space, from one of the most magical parts of the USA with the Imiloa Astronomy Center, and have an out of this world family day out!

They can offer breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant!
Breakfast & Lunch Hours
Tuesday – Sunday: 7 AM – 4 PM
Dinner Hours
Thursday – Sunday: 5 PM – 8:30 PM

Don't leave without a visit to the Museum Store, located in the Atrium. Here you will find unique gifts for family and friends back home, books, educational kits and games, apparel and changing variety of art and craft items featuring local artists!

It's a great day out for the students! Custom build your ‘Imiloa school field trip experience to the grade level and content standards of your class. Popular topics include astronomy, Hawaiian culture, water cycle, ocean, plants, atmosphere and climate change.

They also offer a free bus available to Big Island school groups with a minimum of 25 paid admissions!
