About this activity

Los Angeles is one of the most famous cities in the world, but did you know that it's also a city with beautiful nature tucked around every corner?

Griffith Park has to be one of the most iconic parks with the City of Angels, and it's perfect for just escaping the hustle of the city, and giving kids that classic park experience! Griffith Park is like a world of it's own, where you can escape and kids can hike, play, run, and spot those adorable chipmunks.

In fact, Griffith Park is the largest municipal park with urban wilderness area in the entire USA! Now THAT is pretty impressive!

You can take a picnic, or enjoy some swimming. Perhaps tennis is on the cards? Did you know you can even play golf at Griffith Park, or spend time on horseback if you choose! You can even rent bikes, or take a ride on the Griffith Park Southern Railroad.

It's not just those outdoor activities that you can enjoy at this famous park. You can visit the Autry National Center, or the Griffith Observatory.  The LA Zoo is even within the park! ROAR!

There are a number of children's playgrounds within the main area of Griffith Park, as well as various locations, usually near the picnic grounds.

With over 4,200 acres, there is a lot to explore! The park itself is a mix of landscaped parkland, picnic areas, and chapparal-covered terrain.

It's an amazing place to take the kids, and it's an icon of Los Angeles so make sure you visit at least once - kids will love it!

Kids...it's PARK time!
