About this activity

Goose Creek State Park is a great family day out in North Carolina if you just love getting out into nature. Here, you can explore the park through eight miles of trails that will take you through a board range of coastal experiences.  Kids can make their way past giant, old oaks draped in Spanish moss. You can experience the wetlands along the Pamlico Sound, or take in the view of the cypress swamp from the extensive boardwalk.

The best place to start on your adventure through Goose Creek State Park is the visitor and environmental educational center. It's here that you can check out a number of details exhibits outlining where you are, what you are about to see, and the best way to see it all!

If you want to take off those hiking boots for a bit and cool down, then spending some time at the sandy swim beach is your best bet! There's also a boat ramp and a separate paddling launch if you actually want to get out ON the water.

Also at Goose Creek State Park is a primitive camping area, as well as plenty of picnic sites. The small tent-oriented campground offers privacy and peace and quiet, yet gives you a base that is a short drive from the historic towns of bath and Washington in North Carolina.

A visit Goose Creek State Park allows you to explore, unwind, and soak up the beauty of nature. Grab those camera, walking shoes, and sense of adventure and let's go!
