About this activity

Did you know that North Dakota only has ONE hands-on science center, and it's the Gateway to Science Center in Bismarck?

Science IS fun, and kids can really gain an understanding and appreciation for it with the hands-on activities and exhibits that the museum has. They want to encourage learning through experimentation, and interactive play, so why not bring them along for a day of learning and lots of fun!

From pre-school age to adult, there is something for all! Each of the 90 plus interactive exhibits can teach the kids something different.

The Butterfly Exhibit lets kids spend time and appreciate those beautifully colorful winged creatures, and learn all about their amazing life cycle. At the Electricity & Magnetism exhibit, kids can learn about electric currents, fields and currents, and all about megnetism too!

Love robots? So do the Gateway to Science Center, which is why the Robotic Arm Exhibit is so exciting! There are five ranges of motion in the robotic arm, and kids can move it around just by a touch of a button! Pretty exciting!

Did you know that there were even roller coasters in the center? Well, close - there are a number of coaster exhibits that demonstrate the kinetic and potential energy, as well as inertia and velocity. See - even trips to the theme parks can teach them something!

So why not take the kids to a place where touching, experimenting, getting creative and playing is encouraged, and where having a great time is all in the name of science!
