Learning all about history is AMAZING, but when you can actually visit a place that you're learning about, it makes it that much more special!
Fort Ticonderoga is over 2,000 amazing acres of history, and stunning gardens and landscapes that you can explore, and of course learn all about. The Fort offer a range of programs for all ages, which are fun, hands-on, and of course educational (and parents we know you like that!)
Children can re-live the defining story of the fort through these daily programs, as well as activities which highlight the life of a soldier, as well as trades from all those years ago.
Are you excited to hear about some of the daily programs that they have at Fort Ticonderoga? Great, because we're excited to tell you! Do you fancy tracing the footsteps of the French soldiers who were on the fort to defend it? You can find out all about how the French would wage war on the front line all the while trying to build a fort in the wilderness (do you think it compared to the forts that you build in your back garden!?)
How about touring those amazing gardens that you will see at the Fort? There are military garrison gardens, and also one of the oldest cultivated landscapes in the entire country!
Boom! What's that? It must be the Musket Firing Demonstrations that will take you all the way back to 1756 when those mighty muskets were fired to guard the stone and log walls of Fort Carillion.
Ever imagined what it was like to be a solider? Then make sure you don't miss the Soldiers Life Programs where you can meet the Languedoc soldiers of the French arm, and even meet some of the original French chefs that would have cooks at the garrison's camp kitchen. We wonder what they would have eaten!
A fun family day out AND a trip back in time - yes please! Enjoy!
