Some things in history, however tragic, still have shaped and influenced our world that we know today, which is why the Florida Holocaust Museum opened it's doors.

Located in St. Petersburg, this eye opening and moving museum honors the memory of those men, women and of course children, who either suffered in the Holocaust, or who didn't make it out.

More suitable for those older children who will be able to understand the stories and events, the museum is home to permanent exhibitions, as well as two temporary exhibition galleries.

The first permanent exhibition is History, Heritage and Hope, which lets you see original artifacts and historical photos to tell the story, with a strong emphasis on the personal stories of those local survivors.

The other exhibition is Kaddish in Wood, which are woodcarvings by a very talented artist who created carvings of French children who were victims of the Holocaust.

The two temporary exhibition galleries at the Florida Holocaust Museum often focus on one particular facet of that period in time. The changing nature means you can see something different on your next visit.

The 3rd floor of the museum holds small temporary exhibitions.

With a focus on the stories and faces from this infamous period in history, the museum really does justice to the memories of those who succumbed to this event.

It's a talking point for kids to learn the history of the events, and makes for an educational and sometimes emotional family day out.
