The Latino culture and history is such an important part of the history of the USA, and can you believe that in the entire country there are only 11 Latino museums? Hard to believe isn't it!?
El Museo Latino has a range of exhibits which tell the story of the history and culture of the Latino Heritage, as well as develop educational programs for students!
The temporary exhibits change across the year, so make sure you keep checking what's on so you don't miss out before it's changed! There are permanent exhibits too so you can keep going back if you have a favorite!
Each of the exhibits cover a fascinating topic. They can range from artworks, to the history of Latinos in Omaha, to photography of very talented Latino photographers.
In addition to these exhibits, there are those educational programs which are featured in conjunction with the exhibits. They have programs which can let you indulge in art, dance, and even special Family Days! The programs are designed specifically for an age group - from kids, teens to adults.
If you fancy taking up dance, you can try out their year round classes including ballroom, ballet, salsa and hip hop.
Then it wouldn't be a fun family friendly museum without some fun special events! El Museo Latino often has special events with hands-on activities, games, music, dance, and even free books and nutrition workshops. Did we mention there were prizes too!?
The museum is a great way for kids to really understand another culture, and one that is so important to what makes the USA so great today.
