Econfina River State Park is nestled along the northern Gulf Coast, and it's a place that protects the myriad of diverse landscapes that YOU can explore! The Econfina River itself meanders like a ribbon through the oaks and pine forests, and pine flatwoods, right through to salt marshes dotted with pine islands.
During your time at this popular Florida state park, you can explore it by foot, bike, or even horseback. Equestrians must register with the park office prior to using a trail.
There are nearly 15 miles of biking trails, which can also be enjoyed with those hiking boots of yours.
It's not just on land that you can really immerse yourselves in the park. Why not just drift along the river in a kayak, canoe, or boat. The canoe and kayak launch fees are included in the park fee.
Take your time and make your way along the trails that lead to a panoramic view of coastal Florida where lush islands, sand dunes that are left from a bygone era, dot the horizon. Make sure you take the camera! You also might just spot some of the wildlife within the park, including black bear, fox and deer!
