It's time to delve into the rich maritime roots of Door County at the Door County Maritime Museum, located along Sturgeon Bay's busy waterfront in Wisconsin.
Not only can you learn all about the events that shaped the region's history, but also the personalities and stories hard-working fisherman, skilled craftsmen, bold investors and brave ship captain's.

Some of the features within this popular maritime museum is a fishing tug boat built back in 1930, and even board the boat and view its last fishing trip in 1992!
Along with the Hope is the remake of a net shed complete with fishing boxes, a net reel, and other traditional fishing supplies. The Museum also features new exhibits on shipwrecks and lifesaving including a lyle gun used to rescue mariners from shipwrecks.
You can step into an actual wheelhouse of an 1907 steamship, and Captain her as she delivers lumber and stone throughout the Great Lakes!
There are great events throughout the year at the Door County Maritime Museum including the classic and wooden boat festival, as well as speaker series where you can learn even more about this rich and fascinating history!
