About this activity

DINOSAURS! We know you're just as excited as we are! Dinosaur National Monument is an amazing part of the USA where visible remains of these amazing creatures still lie embedded in the rocks. Around them, the desert, mountains, and rivers flowing through the deep canyons support and incredible array of wildlife that kids can experience.

If you are coming to see dinosaur fossils, then you are in luck because just the tip of the iceberg is the Dinosaur Quarry Exhibit Hall, where there are 1,500 bones still encased in the rocks.

Here, the whole family can get right up close to a huge wall filled with different species of dinosaurs, from the Allosaurus, Diplodicus and Stegosaurus.

There is even a great 80 foot long mural which reveals the stories of these creatures that lived int he late Jurassic period. There are even several amazing places where you can actually TOUCH a 149 million year old dinosaur fossil - how amazing is that!

What's great about Dinosaur National Monument is the fact that there is SO much more to do once you have finished admiring all those amazing dinosaurs.

There is whitewater rafting to get the adrenaline pumping, and star gazing to finish your amazing day. There are amazing trails for hiking and cross country travel, and if you want to prolong your stay in the area, there are several campgrounds located across the park where you can stay - and sleep where the dinosaurs once roamed!

So why did the dinosaur cross the road? To get to the Dinosaur National Monument of course!
