Your family will love getting out into nature together on our 850 acre nature preserve! There is so much to explore and so many things for everyone in the family to enjoy. We have several private lakes and ponds for fishing(no license required), swimming, paddle boarding, & kayaking, over 15 miles of nature trails that you can hike or drive in one of our UTV off road vehicle rentals.
We offer 1 hour horseback trail riding tours into the towering pines and hardwoods. We also offer leadline horseback rides for the little ones. Meet the ranch critters in our Lil Corral petting zoo, featuring pot belly pigs, baby doll sheep, our quiet nubian goats, or bottle fed calves. Want a closer, behind the scenes experience with these critters? Jump in with our team for an exclusive “Feed the farm animals” experience when we are doing our morning feedings.Create some magical keepsakes in our nature crafts classes, or find priceless treasures in our little explorers class.Hop on our pontoon boat for a private guided tour of the beautiful Lake Cypress Springs, voted the most beautiful lake in all of Texas. Love puzzles? You will love our Double S Escape room or Escape the Ranch Adventures. Perfect for ages 8 and up.You will also find several playgrounds and play areas for the family to relax and watch the little ones play on. Our 800 + acre Guest Ranch has been in operation for over 25 years. We offer all of these family activities along with available lodging for families and groups of all shapes and sizes.Featuring 18 fully furnished Lake Houses, Ranch Homes, Cabins, and Cottages. Each are designed with their own unique furnishings, views, and style. Every home is fully stocked with: Linens, Towels, and Hand & Bath Soaps. Air Conditioning for Summer & Heat for Winter. 1. On Interstate 30 take Exit #146
2. Turn Right onto TX-37 South
3. Follow 0.9 miles, then turn Left(East) onto FM 21S
4. Follow 0.6 miles, then turn Right(South) on FM 115
5. Follow 3.5 miles, then turn Left onto FM 3122
6. Follow 400 ft, then turn right CR SE 4260
7. Follow CR SE 4260(it becomes Panther Creek Pass) approximately 1.5 miles ft, Ranch Entrance will be on your right following a sharp turn.
8. Welcome to the Double S Ranch, home to Deer Lake Cabins!! Follow the signs through the ranch to the Check-In at the Main Office.

Each cabin has a microwave or stove.
Our gift shop offers cold beverages, ice cream, shaved ice, and several snack options.
You will find several picnic areas around the ranch for a nice relaxing place to enjoy a packed lunch.
We also have a full service catering option available for groups of 15 or more.
We are a private nature preserve and are doing everything we can to keep the natural environment pristine for our wildlife and vegetation. We ask that you please do not litter and do not damage the natural landscapes you encounter.
Immersive experience with nature. Our Ranch is home to a wide variety of wildlife, vegetation, and aquatic ecosystems.
Each cabin has a microwave or stove.
For groups of 15 of more our catering menu can be completely customized to meet any dietary restrictions.
Most of our outdoor roadways and trails are sandy and can be difficult to explore with limited mobility.
