Florida has some amazing wildlife and nature, so why not explore it on your family day out!

Daggerwing Nature Center is located within the Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, Florida, and has a host of nature experiences and wildlife encounters for the whole family!

A great place to start is the exhibit hall, with 3,000 square feet of amazing exhibits. There are live animals for you to experience, and hands-on state of the art exhibits where kids can learn all about the nature that surrounds them. 

There is even an elevated boardwalk which will take you on a journey through a mysterious swamp! The boardwalk has two trails, so you can spend some time really just enjoying nature at your own pace. There is bench-style seating for those who want to take it easy and just breathe it all in, and there is an observation tower which is perfect for the kids to really get a great look at the abundant plant and animal life!

It's worth just spending some time in the one place and really learning about the animals, and trying to spot them! Perhaps you'll see those noisy woodpeckers, or those colorful butterflies. There are osprey, endangered wood storks, and don't be alarmed....but alligators too! Don't worry they just want to say hi!

There is even a Ruddy Daggerwing butterfly - try and spot it! It's the colorful namesake of the Daggerwing Nature Center.

The idea behind the center is to encourage families and kids to appreciate the natural environment around them. Kids can learn all about conservation, and appreciate why we need to look after our planet. An invaluable experience!
