Forrest L Wood Crowley's Ridge Nature Center is where kids can learn all about the wonders of nature, whilst you're surrounded by it! It's a welcoming family environment for exploration and learning, and it's waiting for YOU!
Forrest L Wood Crowley's Ridge Nature Center can be found on the southern edge of Jonesboro, and it's here kids can learn all about the unique ridge atop of the Mississippi Delta and it's topography, as well as the natural history and wildlife of the area.
Indoor and outdoor exhibits have been designed to give the best experience possible.
The facility is over a whopping 17,000 sq ft, and features not one, but THREE stories of education and exhibits, across 160 acres.
We mentioned there are outdoor exhibits too. Crowley's Ridge also adjoins the southern boundary of Craighead Forest park, where you can explore five and a half acres of prairies, as well as ponds and 100 acres of woodlands.
There are also nature trails of varying lengths available in the surrounding countryside, many with pathways suitable for push and wheelchairs.

Why not take a picnic! There is an outdoor area for lunches, but they are on a first served basis so keep that in mind
Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the outdoors. If it rains, tours will still happen, unless in severe weather.
There is a gift shop where you can pick up gifts, books, and nature supplies!
They LOVE having students there! Just call to schedule a reservation, and they can work out a program to suit your needs!
It's a good idea to take water with you
The center has been designed to be as accessible as possible. There is an elevator include, accessible trails and the feature film can be shown with captions if needed
Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet and attended to at all times.
