Go back in time to see what life was like on the banks of the Mississippi River at the Cape River Heritage Museum. Located in an old police station and fire station that dates back to 1908, the museum is a local landmark, and a great place to explore Missouri's history!
The museum features changing exhibits, so you can always go back and explore more. The themes of the exhibits explore a range of subjects. One visit you might be exploring Native American history, or delving into the world of rocks and minerals found in the area.
Uncover the people, and the events that shaped the history of Missouri, and even see some historic artifacts too, such as vintage fire fighting equipment, and 150 years of fire history complete with uniforms, and memorabilia.
The Cape River Heritage Museum explores life on the Mississippi River though a series of photos, as well as riverboat gear, a pilot house and stories about the people who called it home.
Also at the museum are events, presentations and workshops so you can really make the most of this historic day out!
Why read the history books when you can explore it in person?
