Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium is all about offering families amazing nature based experiences, and with 105 acres to explore, that's a lot of adventure! This Fort Myers nature center features a number of attractions and activities within the grounds, including a museum that welcomes families and is themed around Southwest Florida's natural history.
There are also interpretive panels on local environmental issues, which is a great for teaching kids all about conservation.
The Planetarium is always popular with the children, where they can enjoy great starscape experiences through the varying schedule of displays. It's an out of this world experience!
The live exhibits are focussed on by interpretive panels and daily educational programmes to get the most from the visit, plus walk through butterfly house and bird aviaries. The Audubon Aviary is specifically home to injured and recuperating birds of prey, so stop and learn about their stories.
Grab those hiking boots because not all of the fun at Calusa Nature Center is indoors! There are three outdoor nature trails which are great to explore, and offer great views. You might be able to spot some local wildlife too!
So connect with nature on your next family day out, you never know what you might discover!
