It may be called Bridal Cave because of the folklore that Osage Native American Indians discovered the beauty of the caves, and held a wedding ceremony there in the early 1880s, but it's also a natural wonder of the world that offer guided tours for families to visit and enjoy!
Bridal Cave was discovered at a time when the pioneering settlers were looking for wonder, and flocked to the cave until 1948 when it was protected. Further explorations uncovered amazing chambers, with crystal clear waters, now known as Mystery Lake.
Over two years, passageways were uncovered, and now you can experience wonders that only a handful in the entire world have seen!
The guided tours are the way to see the caves, They leave every few minutes and all last around an hour. These tours on concrete pathways are always in the 60F environment - so you always know what kind of weather you'll be getting!
The interpreters will answer all your questions, and will take you on a journey of incredible mineral deposits and rock formations. Giant columns, draperies, delicate soda straws, are all abound through the cave.
Bridal Cave also has more onyx formations than any other known cave or cavern - pretty impressive!
