It's time to hit the stage, kids! Birmingham Children's Theatre is one of the nation's oldest AND largest professional theatre companies for young audiences, so why not make it a stop next time you're in the city. It's SUCH great entertainment for kids!
The Birmingham Children's Theatre produces high-quality, professional theatrical entertainment (and curriculum-relevant arts education experiences!) for children and families, and it's a super fun way to spend an afternoon or evening.
The Birmingham Children's Theatre operates the 150 seat Dominick Studio Theatre, as well as the intimate 250 seat Wee Folks' Theatre (perfect for students ages 3 to 6 years) AND if that wasn't enouugh, they also operate the larger 950 seat Mainstage Theatre (perfect for students ages 6 years and up!).
The shows that the Birmingham Children's Theatre are often classics, so more that likely kids will already be going into super fun shows that they know and love! Examples of shows include Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Willa Wonka, and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, BUT there are very many more so signing up for a brochure is advised!

BCT is located at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. The theatre is on the corner of 19th Street and 11th Avenue North inside the complex. It’s easiest to enter near the arena on 19th Street. Just walk down the stairs and look for our sandwich boards and the colorful banners in our windows. You can also follow the signs to the "THEATRE."
Recommended parking is on 19th Street in the gravel lot across the street from the BJCC. There is occasionally a $10 charge for parking when special events are going on in the BJCC, and only cash is accepted. Metered parking is available on 19th Street North

They offer camps AND classes for those who want to actually tread the stage boards themselves! The shows are also age appropriate for certain groups so great for a school trip. Give them a call to book! They also offer study guides too
If you have any questions about access or any disability you may have, just give them a call before booking and they will happily answer your questions!
In addition to individual tickets, you can pick up an All Access Pass which is great if you want to see multiple shows and save!
