My retired Dad, my 8yr old son, my best friend, and I went gigging on Oct 11 sat. night and gigged 40 lbs of flounder, lots of sheephead, and an 18lbs doormat. We all had a great time with no problems. We did the 6 hr gig…beginning at 7pm and ending at 1am. Capt. Mac was a blast!! We will do it again!!

“GOT OUR FLOUNDER LIMIT WITH CAPTAIN MAC” I took my Dad out Flounder Gigging with Captain Mac for his birthday present, and it was a flounder gigging fiesta! We loaded up the cooler with lots of nice flounders! Captain Mac held us in excellent boat position so that we could ABG (Always Be Gigging). THANKS CAPTAIN MAC!

Two thumbs up. I have to say that flounder gigging was highlight of my Amelia island trip. Although we had to cancel the trip earlier because the salt water got into the brand new generator and damaged the circuit while we were moving to a new spot. As you know, you can not see the sea floor without a light. Captain Bob is a funny and knowledgeable gentleman and he gave us great instruction how to use the spear to catch fish. There are a lot of fish out there and you just need to be fast enough to catch them. I love fishing all my life but the fish gigging brought me to different level of experience. I know for sure that I will be back this summer with more friends. Thanks you Bob, you are the best

While visiting my family in Amelia Island over spring break I took the opportunity to do something new. Flounder Gigging! Took the family which included my twin 9 yr olds. I have fished all over and done all kinds of fishing – inshore, near shore, beach/flats, and offshore fishing, etc and have used many guides. This was a first but will not be the last time I go gigging. What a blast! Caught several nice flounder, missed several more, a huge sheeps head (missed 2 others), and missed a few really nice red fish. Saw lots of other fish too. Need to be on your toes and strike fast. But you do quickly get adjusted to the pace. This isn’t sitting back and waiting type of fishing. Kids had a lot of fun. My daughter turned out to be a really good spotter and I’m sure folks across the bay heard her scream “there’s one” all night long – lol. Captain Mac has a good boat, runs a good operation, and has great areas to fish around. And he is a die hard like I am. I certainly would recommend giving it a try. BobD and family

This was our first time out ever for flounder gigging. We had 3 of our children with us ages 13,12 and 8. We weren’t sure what to expect and decided to, for the kids sake, to go with the 2 hour charter. I’m happy to report that everyone had a great time and all want to go again and soon. My only regret was that we didn’t book the 4 hour charter. If you have young kids 8 years old and up, trust me, they will have a great time and will be fine for the 4 hour charter. This is a great way to build those family memories that will last a lifetime. I totally recommend Capt Mac’s charter. Make sure to book early as he will book up fast.
