About this activity

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is a museum JUST for kids with a focus on science, math and technology, so kids will be learning as they play without even realizing! The museum has 4 floors FILLED with over 250 interactive hands-on exhibits, each one designed to teach and develop kids in different ways.

They cater to the younger child but hold to the philosophy that science is for everyone and children of all ages will enjoy the experience. In fact, parents can enjoy it too!

Kids can find out unique facts about the human body in the All About You exhibit, including hearing your heart beat and measuring you physical fitness! In the Legacy Gallery kids can experiment with simple machines, and Michigan Nature is a pure Michigan experience that includes a soundscape, interactive nature wall and even native lake fish! Pretty cool!

Those curious little ones can discover the science of television in MediaWorks, and history lovers can go back in time to the 1930s in the Lyons Country Store.

For those younger playful kids in the family, the Preschool Gallery is designed just for kids under 4 years old, where they can splash on the water tables, dress up like fire fighters and play on the child-sized fire engine!

In addition, most weekends they have exciting demonstrations related to a specific theme of science, math or technology too, so keep an eye out for those!

So kids, are you ready to find out that science, tech and math CAN be fun? It's all there waiting for you in Ann Arbor, so let's get exploring!
