About this activity

Love cars? Love bikes? Or even love history? Then you might LOVE America On Wheels!

This Pennsylvania museum dedicates it's 23,000 sq feet to preserving the incredible history of transportation in the USA, through it's exhibits, events and education.

It's collection it pretty incredible too, and kids will love getting up close to some pretty special vehicles, all of which have shaped transportation in this country.

The galleries of America On Wheels are elaborate, and feature everything from personal transportation including scooters and Segways, to those old fashioned classics such as the grand Mack Truck, that actually help feed a supply this growing nation!

When you first enter America On Wheels, you will be transported into the 1950s, where the big auto manufacturers, one of a kind car shows and small private shops ruled. Kids can check out some pretty cool vintage cars, and learn all about how the style was inspired by current events, including space exploration!

Moving through, you then come to vehicles that have special relationships with the owners, from the sport car to hot rods, and even emergency vehicles. The whole family can enjoy the interactive exhibits, and learn the stories behind the displays. You can even have your photo taken in the drivers seat of an Indy Racecar! (A kiddie sized one of course!)

From huge trucks, to the first horseless carriage, and the weird and wonderful, America On Wheels is ready to give you a vroom-tastic family day out!

Get those engines ready!
