Vancouver is an AMAZING city, so it's no surprise that there is an entire museum dedicated JUST to the city! The Museum of Vancouver is a great place to learn all about this great city. It can educate, inspire and excite all who visit, and the many exhibits honour the past, present and future of what makes the city what it is today.
There are permanent exhibitions within the Museum of Vancouver, as well as temporary ones, so there will also be something new to see!
The topics of the permanent exhibitions cover a range of topics, and it's a great way for kids to learn about history!
You can experience a glimpse of the big city lights that were popular from the 1950s to the 1970s at Neon Vancouver. Yep - it's all about neon signs! Some have been lit since they were recovered from a junk yard, and each sign has it's own story of how it went through a war, so why it's designed the way it is.
During this time, the city had over 19,000 signs. Some loved them, others hated them - but at the museum you can decide for yourself!
You can learn all about the city during the 1930s and 1940s, with the market crash and WWII, what the city was like just after the turn of the century, the revolution years and the hopeful 1950s post-war.
There is SO much to learn about this amazing city, so why not spend a few hours and discover another side to a city that you think you might know. Great family fun!
