Sea North Tours is a family owned company evolved from a love of the subarctic and its wildlife. Mike and Doreen are year round residents that have specialized in marine tours since 1977. Located in Churchill on the shore of Hudson Bay, there are many beluga whales that travel from the Arctic Ocean and there are around 60,000 of them that inhabit the Western Hudson Bay region, where 3,000 are found at Churchill itself.
There are so many tours to choose from to match your requirements. The Zodiac Beluga Whale tour is a 2 hour long tour by boat and will give you plenty of time to enjoy the curious moments of the animals. You may even spot polar bears as they swim ashore too and also some seals! The guides have years of experience on the river and the boats, so if the whales do surround the boat they're well equipped at dealing with it.
If you wanted to explore on land then the Sloop Cover Historic Site and Nature Walk is the perfect tour for you. You'll be accompanied by guides and they'll be able to tell you all about the the men starting out in the area in the fur trade, which is history you want to know! The tour is 3 hours and the distance is around 4km so you'll need to be pretty mobile!
There are no roads into Churchill and although the town is accessible by air and rail it is sometimes difficult making travel arrangements.
