Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design is a non-profit services that works to encourage and promote the craft movement in the area. It was established in 1991 and welcomes visitors of all ages to come and get involved!
The centre is divided into several parts, the Mary E Black Gallery, Courses, Studios and Residencies. The gallery is the only public gallery with a fine craft mandate and hosts both local and nation exhibitions all year round. The exhibitions represent the historial and contemporary expressions with an aim to educate and promote the craft community.
There are lots of courses to choose from. You can learn to turn candles and bottle stoppers, make mini geometric pots and a boards, introduction to pottery throwing, sculpting jewellery making and so much more. So whatever you're interested in there will be something for everyone!
Located at The Cultural Federations of Nova Scotia (CFNS). Entrance is through the side door of a long brick building just past the Garrison Brewery, and opposite NSCAD University.
