The Museum of Natural History is an ever-evolving landscape. Its staff is dedicated to collecting, researching and documenting Nova Scotias natural history. Their vision is to interpret the natural world to its visitors and inspire them to perceive the part it plays in their everyday lives.
The museum is both an educational and scientific experience and first opened it's door back in 1912! From dinosaurs to climate change and modern exhibitions, there's lots to explore and discover for all ages. They have lots of permanent and visiting galleries and exhibitions. There's a fossil gallery where you can journey back in time to explore the dramtic events that led to the extinction of dinosaurs and visit the earth gallery that has thousands of colourful minerals and rocks to discover!
The bird gallery features 450 bird species all in one place and the canada goose arctic gallery will allow you to discover the changing landscapes and climate in the arctic region. There's all losts of exhibitions that are hands on, once of which is where you can be face to face with an owl in their outdoor exhibition!
For schools, there's lots of programs to take the class on, with dynamic curriculum-based workshops both in the museum and online.
