Mount-Royal Park is known to locals, is the largest green space on Montreal Island. It was designed by Olmstead, who also designed Central Park in New York City. Mount-Royal Park is the playground for the city.
The park is open all year round, with a whole host of seasonal activities for the whole family. In Spring, celebrate Mount Royal Month in May! The annual Mount-Royal Clean-Up kicks off a season of discovery walks, cultural and recreational activities.
In Summer, you'll be able to experience the winding paths and outstanding views. Paddle a rowboat across Beaver Lake, join a discover walk or sit and grab a cool drink from the one of the outdoor cafes.
In Fall, you can take park in the environmental stewardship activities, learn about the history on the guided walks and enjoy some free exhibitions that happen during this time.
In Winter, if you love winter sports then this is the place to visit! Join snowshoeing treks-ice skate, coast downhill on snow tubes and eplore over 22km of cross-country ski trails, plus so much more!
There are two paid parking lots in Mount Royal Park. Please note that it is not possible to drive to the Mount Royal Chalet or Kondiaronk Belvedere. You can leave your car at the Smith House parking lot and enjoy a short five-minute walk to the Chalet and Belvedere.
