About this activity

Established in 1920, Kootenay National Park is one of 42 national parks in Canada. Together, they celebrate and protect the diversity of the nation's great landscapes. Kootenay National Park represents the south-western region of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

From glacier-clad peaks along the Continental Divide to semi-arid grasslands of the Rocky Mountain Trench, where cactus grows, this is a park rich in diversity of landscapes and ecology. You can enjoy a scenic drive through the Rockies, or step out of the car and explore the park on foot! There's plenty of multi-day treks to do, or simply camp out in one of the campgrounds.

There are hot minerate waters to bath in after a long day, and you can enjoy a lovely picnic too! There's skiing, snowshoeing in the winter months, but it may not be suitable for beginners. In the Summer enjoy a hike, fishing and wildlife watching and soak in the wonderful landscape.

You can camp in style in the TENTiks which are tents combined with a rustic cabin, but are the perfect spot to rest your head after a hard day!
