About this activity

Huronia Museum (HM) in Midland, Ontario, Canada consists of the museum building (housing collections and gallery) and the Huron/Ouendat (Wendat) village (palisade and longhouse) and is open year round and has nearly one million objects to see and explore with the whole family. 

The museum features an exhibit gallery that features tens of thousands of historic artifacts randing from photos, marine heritage and art and amongst others. The museum has developed a walking and driving tour of some of Midland's Heritage site, with 25 sites ready to explore! The museum town project aims to preserve the identify, history and memory of Midland and to infor visitors of the dynamic history. 

Their outreach initiatives aims to deliver education programs directly to classrooms. Students will get to participate in curriculum based activities which are both entertaining and hands-on, all in their own classroom too!

The museum also hosts an annual film series and gives the audience a chance to sit back and watch a movie with their family and friends.  The Summer Jam also happens for 9 weeks from July and there will be field trips, swimming, outdoor play, crafts and more that they organise and is great for the whole family to enjoy.
