About this activity

Located near the south shore of beautiful Lake Simcoe, this ten-acre site, Georgina Pioneer Village and Archives, is now home to sixteen structures that interpret the rich history of Georgina between 1850 and 1920, including a one-room schoolhouse, a general store, a train station, a blacksmith shop, an apothecary, among other significant historic structures.

The village has an extensive archive collection, with records created by councils and former townshops. There's a lot of family documents, land records, photographs, scrapbooks and so much more to read.

There are regular camps and tours of the village, as well as workshops and school visits that they welcome through the opening season. You'll also find the village hosts a number of popular special events during it's opening hours.

Pack a picnic and spend the day here, with a large outdoor recreation centre offering a splash pad, playground and a forested walking trail too!
