Dufferin County Museum and Archives

The Dufferin County Museum and Archives strives to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of Dufferin County. Built in the style of an Ontario bank barn, the museum's striking architecture reflects the agricultural heritage of this central Ontario region.

The museum's roots date back to 1963 and their aim is to engage visitors in the cultural centre of community life, exchanging stories about culture, history and community that spark conservations. They collect objects of time and place, allowing visitors to conecct to the past, present and future, with a space that engages everyone. 

The museum features three galleries and four historic buildings in total, that host long and short term exhibitions. They have a space on The Dufferin House, with white pine logs and decorated to the style of the 1880s, where you can explore various rooms from the kitchen to the family parlour! The Crombies Station is set as a railway, and reminds us of the how the past daily lives revolved around the train schedule!

You'll also find lots of events here too. From holiday treasures and arts and crafts sales to workshops where you can get hands on, there's lots to do to keep everyone entertained.
