Jurassic Park...Land Before Time...these maybe Hollywood movies, but they are also based on something that was once very REAL on our planet! That's right...dinosaurs!

The Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta is the perfect place for families and kids who are fascinated by these huge creatures that once roamed the earth millions of years ago.

When you visit the Dinosaur Provincial Park, it will be like stepping into another world, with discover around every corner!

There is SO much outdoor adventure to be had too. You can explore the Badlands, or even camp out under the stars. Even more exciting, you can even participate in a fully authentic dinosaur dig! The whole area is abundant with fossils, and to top it off, there is amazing wildlife and stunning landscapes to keep you occupied too.

Did you know that the Dinosaur Provincial Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site? Now THAT shows you how special is it!

There are guided tours into the park's Natural Preserves, and these are popular so make sure you book ahead!

As well as guided tours, there are kids and family programs that you can take part in which are super fun! Form sunset tours, fossil safaris, and lab programs...there will be something that interests you!

If you want to make a few days of it, there is RV and tent camping in the area too that you can enjoy. 

Step back in time millions of years into the time of the dinosaurs....imagine if they were still alive...eeek!

Dinosaur Provincial Park FAQ’s

There is a Cretaceous Cafe that has food (closed for winter) and snacks available in the visitors center

Most of the park is a Natural Preserve, where the very popular interpretive bus tours and hikes are staged. On these events you see spectacular badlands, fossils and sometimes wildlife. However, this area has restricted access to protect sensitive features and public safety. Entry is only by guided program, and there is limited room, so book ahead.

They do welcome group tours, so it's best you give them a call to see how they can help you out!

There are picnic areas that you can enjoy your own packed lunch at.

There are some barrier free trails and accessible camp spots. Speak to the visitors center staff about your specific trip.

There are a number of self-guided tours that you can do in the park!
