The Confederation Centre of the Arts is open year-round and showcases the best in the Canadian visual and performing arts. It houses several theatres, an art gallery, Mavors Bistro and a gift shop for the whole family to enjoy.
Each year the gallery presents an average of 20 exhibitions of work by Canadian visual artists, with four main exhibition halls. You'll find a collection of public sculptures on the esplanades of the centre and a mix of traditional at forms such as paintings, drawings, photography and many more.
The theatre has a variety of performances throughout the year. There is the Sobey Family Theatre, Live @ The Centre, The Mack and Outdoor Amphitheatre, so make sure you check the website before you visit so you know what's happening and to book your tickets!
They also hold lots of workshops and classes for all ages and abilities, enthusiasts or anyone simply wanting to get involved in a new hobby! You'll find dance classes, choral music, visual arts and crafts and many more. They also run visual arts camp for any child that's interested in visual arts and they'll be doing paintings, scultpting, drawings and lots more crafts that they can take home with them!
Confederation Centre of the Arts is located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown and is bordered by Grafton, Queen and Richmond Streets. The Box Office is located at the corner of Queen and Grafton Streets and you can also find entrances off Grafton Street’s Upper Plaza, Richmond St/Victoria Row and seasonally via the amphitheatre. Sobey Family Theatre, Studio Theatres, outdoor Amphitheatre, and Art Gallery are all located within the main complex which fills a city block. The 200-seat cabaret-style The Mack Theatre is in a separate building located at the corner of Great George and Grafton Streets.
