About this activity

It's all about history and aviation at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum! This fascinating museum is a living museum that features the aircraft used by Canadians or Canada's Military from the beginning of World War II, all the way up to the present day.

If you love history, wartime aircraft, or just aviation, this is a family day out for you!

The Museum's collection includes aircraft that really fly and several that remain on static display and are interactive workshops. The mission of the museum is to collect, preserve and maintain not only the aircraft, but also artifacts and memorabilia of significant historic importance to this period, so it's an amazing learning experience for the kids.

Through rotating displays, as well as flight demonstrations and special events and activities, the family can be actively involved in this experience - not your average museum day out!

You can come face to face with a real life de Havilland Tiger Moth, as well as a B-25 Mitchell, Fairey Firefly, Supermarine Spitfire, and so many more amazing models. It's not just marvelling at the aircraft that will excite kids, but also learning about the stories behind them - who were the pilots behind them? How were they used within their respective battles?

A fascinating family day out in Canada for the family - what will you learn today?
