The town of Bruce Mines is small, but there is a vibrant community offerings all the amenities needed for families of all ages. The town is stepped in history as it was founded in 1846 as Canada's first copper mine. You can visit the town museum or enjoy all that nature has to offer in the surrounding countryside. You can hike along their numerous trails or explore the Simpson Copper Mine or relax by the lake on a summers day!

The Simpson Mine Shaft is a cruicial piece of Candian mining history and is located right in the town centre. It's open for guided tours during the summer months and you'll get a glimpse into what it was like to mine on the shores of Lake Huron. See a replica of a horse pulled whim, or walk in the footsteps of the miners down the actual sloop mine. To finish you day you can head to the gift shop and pick up a souvenir! Don't forget to check out the museum too and visit the dolls hours, slot machine and the unique yakaboo canoe.
