About this activity

When you come to visit Battlefield House Museum in Stoney Creek, you will find living history. Experience life in the early nineteenth century, as the museum staff, dressed in period costume, demonstrate the lifestyle of the Gage Family. Experience a guided tour of this early 19th century homestead that was once home to the Gage family.

The Gages worked the land with their ten children and during the war, the family retreated to their cellar as the Battle of Stoney Creek raged! The monument stands as a symbol of peace and commemorates those soldiers who died.

Don't miss out on the re-enactment of the battle of stoney creek during the first weekend of June! It's declared as one of Ontario's top events too. Mingle with the settlers and soldiers as they go about their daily life and witness historical demonstrations of cooking, dancing, blacksmithing and much more.

The Grandview is a two-storey dwelling and today houses a gift shop, exhibit gallery and a public rental space. The Battlefield monument stands 100 feet tall and it was the brainchild of the Women's Wentworth Historical Society.
