The Banff Park Museum is a national historic site because the museums original exhibit collection reflect and commemorate an early approach to the interpretation of natural history in Canada.
The museum is the oldest natural history museum in Canada and it's your chance to get face to face with the wildlife in Rocky Mountain! The museum contains mre than 5,000 vintage botanical and zoological specimens, from birds to bears and bees!
The Xplorers Club features lifelike specimens from bisons, bears, elk to minerals and plants and you can get hands on with the fossils and furs in the interactive discovery room. There are booklet lists with lots of activities for children to complete, like a scavengers hunt, jigsaw puzzles and more. Once complete you're rewarded with a certificate and a souvenir!
The museum is an attraction itself! The architecture is made from huge logs with large windows and high ceilings, so it's the perfect day out for the whole family!
