Banff National Park is 1 1/2 hrs drive west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. From Banff's humble beginnings as a 26 square kilometre hot springs reserve, Banff National Park now consists of 6,641 square kilometres of unparalleled mountain scenery nestled in the heart of the magnificent Canadian Rockies.
Each year, millions of visitors head to Banff to admire the emerald waters of Lake Louise, walk within the Sunshine Meadows and drive along the Icefields Parkway, there's lots to do throughout all seasons here. You can take a summer sightseeing tour and discover the sweeping vistas and river rapids, along with white water rafting if you're feeling adventurous! There's also golfing, ziplining, wildlife watching, biking and fishing plus plenty more for everyone!
In the Winter, you'll find a perfect ski terrain, with fabulous downhill skiing. There's the Lake Louise Ski Resort, Banff Sunshine and Mount Norquay all on offer! There's also some solitude tracks for some relaxing skiing and six easy and four moderate trails around the town of Banff and in Lake Louise you'll find 18 trails of varying abilities!

If you are coming from the east, the main entry gates to Banff National Park are about an 1-1/4 hour (125 km or 77 miles) drive west of Calgary, Alberta. If you are coming from the west, Banff National Park is a scenic day’s drive (850 km or 530 miles) from Vancouver, travelling through the Coast Mountains, wine country of British Columbia and then the spectacular Canadian Rockies.
