There are some amazing national parks in Australia, and West Cape Howe National Park might just be one of them! With some incredible sheer cliffs, stunning beaches, amazing wildlife, and plenty of family fun to be had, this is a family day out in paradise!
West Cape Howe National Park lies right on the southern coast, about 30km west of Albany. If you are looking for a simple family day out, then Shelley Beach is the best location to head.
This granite bound beach is the easiest site for a visit. Here, kids can play in the super white sand, and family can even enjoy some very good fishing too! If you wanted to extend your family day out, there is even a low-key campground there for you.
It's here you might even spot a hang-glider or two, as they launch themselves over the end! There are some great little bushwalks from here if those active kids are wanting to explore, so pack those walking shoes!
For those families who have a four-wheel drive, you can explore a bit more of West Cape Howe National Park. With the crashing waves and soaring cliffs, it's a sight worth the drive!
Other beaches worth a look at DunskyBeach and Torbay Head.
If you do want to explore further, and don't have a four-wheel drive, you can take a hike along the tracks.
There is so much to explore in this beautiful part of Western Australia, you might just find yourself heading back again and again!

Keep away from the cliff faces, and don't fish near the rugged coastline as this can be dangerous

The tracks for walks are sandy four-wheel tracks to get to the main features, so take care.
