About this activity

Calling all animal lovers!  Waminda Wildlife Sanctuary has been home to injured Australian wildlife for over 20 years.  Don't worry - once they visit the sanctuary they get better!  That's what they are there for.

They arrive at the sanctuary because people can't look after them anymore (which is why its so important to know you are ready for a pet!), or they have found them injured on the road.  They love all animals and will care for them like they are their own pets.

Have you ever wanted a parrot on your shoulder just like Captain Hook?  Or hold a slippery snake?  Would you like to enter a cage full of beautiful dingoes?  Here you can!  You can even pat a baby kangaroo (its called a "Joey")

All the animals are very friendly, because they have been looked after and loved.

The sanctuary itself is very beautiful and well taken care of, full of lovely native flowers and plants, which you can learn about and understand why its so important to live sustainably.

If you want to do something really different, then stay overnight!  You can stay in a caravan, or a bus, or even sleep out under the stars - and you get a free delicious breakfast afterwards!

You can always bring your own Campervan too.

A beautiful experience!  Just make sure you call to book before you arrive.

If your tummy gets the rumbles, they are happy to give you a free snack! They also have free range eggs for sale if you want to take some home for breakfast!

Call before you visit to book your place.

Ever carved an emu egg? Or SEEN an emu egg!? They have emu eggs for sale that you can carve, which you can then take home to show your friends!

The people at the sanctuary are so knowledgeable about Australian wildlife, the sanctuary is a great place for kids to learn about the animals, their behaviours and their habitats. It's also a great place to learn the important of responsibility, and taking care of another living thing.
