About this activity

Not all family day out adventures have to be ABOVE ground! When you visit Tantanoola Caves Conservation Park, the excitement begins when you step below the surface, and discover the wonders of the planet. Tantanoola Caves Conservation Park is one of the most impressive caves in not only South Australia, but the whole of the country. The cave is actually set into a cliff face, and it's believed it was exposed by the pounding of the ocean. Over time, the sea retreated, leaving behind this incredible cavern of shells, pebbles and even seal bones!

Today, Tantanoola Caves are the perfect spot for that Aussie family day out! Kids can see the extraordinary cave decorations in pinks and browns, with the "Up and Down Rocks" a true highlight.

Want to know what else is great about these caves? They are one of Australia's few wheelchair accessible caves - so everyone can enjoy them!

When you arrive, you'll meet your knowledgable guide who will tell you all about the history and geology of the caves. They'll explain how all the formations appeared over time, and answer any questions you may have!

Then, you're free to stroll at your leisure, take photographs, and just marvel at all the natural wonders around you.

Don't worry kids, if you're having a great time the fun doesn't have to end there! There is a FREE cliff top walking trail where those energetic kids can keep enjoying the day, and great panoramic views and picnic grounds to make your day extra special!

So why not enjoy a family day out with a difference, and head to this popular South Australia attraction where it's the world BENEATH the surface that awaits!
