About this activity

Discover the beauty of nature at the Tamworth Botanic Gardens! Set across 28 beautiful hectares, these stunning gardens were established in 1995 and are filled with a wide variety of native plant life, accessed via a network of scenic walks and trails ranging from easy to challenging.

Not only are the gardens a display for the family to enjoy, but they are also set up to conserve the flora of the region. Pretty great! There are beautiful themed gardens including an Asian garden, as well as other elements including an excellent lookout, bush chapel, and ponds.

There is even a three level water feature, gazebo and other structures for the kids to spot as they move through, as well as indoor exhibition space with Aboriginal artefacts. There's lots of walking tracks, picnic areas for a bite to eat and the park is also wheelchair accessible.

Embrace nature and look at the stunning arrangement of flowers and gardens, you may even spot some local wildlife too! If you have a special event coming up you can hire certain areas, which is a great for a birthday event or special celebration!

Tamworth Regional Botanic Gardens FAQ’s

The gardens are not only for pleasure, but they are there to conserve the native flora too!

There are picnic areas within the park so why not head on down with a packed lunch!

While they welcome families it's implicit that the children treat the plant life respectfully, and preferably don't create too much ruckus, so perhaps a stop for after other play.

The bush chapel and gazebo are both available for private hire.

The park is wheelchair accessible so everyone can enjoy the gardens!
