About this activity

Symbio Wildlife Park is more than a zoo. Here, kids won't just wander round looking at animals from behind bars, not really getting a great view. Here, they can actually experience the animals first hand!

Have you ever had the chance to pat a koala? At the Koala Encounters those over 8 years old can get right up to these iconic and very sweet creatures, and even pat one, as well as getting your photo taken!

Think dingos are vicious creatures? This might change your mind, because all of those kids over 12 can actually interact with them, and take them for their daily walk around the park - just like walking the dog!

Have you ever even seen a meerkat let along fed one? For those over 8, the Meerkat encounters will let you feed, touch and have your photo taken with these super sweet animals!

Kids can also experience the beautiful yet endangered Red Pandas, as well as those little scamps the Little Monkeys - some of the smallest primates in the world!

All of the encounters are at an extra fee, but are amazing experiences for kids to learn about the animals and actually touch them!

If you really loved animals you can opt to be a keeper for the day, and get an insight into the daily life of those friendly and lucky staff who get to spend their days with the animals - so YOU will even get to work with them!

If you didn't want to participate in the private encounters, you can still enjoy the various animal presentations and feeding sessions where kids can learn all about the animals and see them enjoy their dinner.

They would also be more than happy for you to celebrate your birthday there, where you can have a private encounter with a small scaly or furry animal! Pretty cool!

Oh - did we mention there is a pool there? There is!

Directions

The park is just 45 minutes south of Sydney, 15 minutes south of Sutherland, and 5 minutes from Waterfall.

If you follow the Princes Highway until it connects with the Sydney / Wollongong Freeway, look for the Helensburgh / Stanwell Park turn off and follow the Symbio signs after that. Get directions

Symbio Wildlife Park FAQ’s

Snacks and refreshments can be bought on site, but feel free to bring your own lunch and enjoy it in one of the undercover shelters, or even enjoy it poolside!

The Happy Snap Animal Encounter allows you to have your photo taken with koalas, alligators and snakes! Wah!

If you have saved up all your cents and have been good, you might be able to take something home from the gift shop, which have soft toys, school stationery and other fun toys and gift ideas!

Junior Keeper Camp is a great way for those kids who really enjoyed the experience to get a more in-depth experience with the animals. This is open for kids between the ages of 7 and 12, and it lasts 5 hours.
