The museum can be a confronting place for sensitive visitors, so just use their map of high and low sensory spaces to plan a visit to suit your child. These social scripts are for families and teachers visiting the museum with children on the autism spectrum.

Head to the cafe where you can dig into some tasty treats! The café is open from 10am–3.30pm Monday to Friday, 10am–4.30pm on weekends and public holidays.

The extras of the Planetarium and Lightning Room are extra cost to the admission

Make sure you make time for the shop! Encourage the budding Einstein in your family with great favourites such as crystal growing, erupting volcano kits, weather stations and crystal radios. Microscopes, telescopes and gyroscopes are all there too.

They also have plenty of books in the fields of science and astronomy, and kids can take home fun items like glow in the dark stars, stickers and space mobiles, puzzles and mind-stimulating gizmos and gadgets.

The Scienceworks shop is open daily from 10am–4.30pm.

Why not have a birthday party at Scienceworks! It's birthday fun mixed with science and adventure! The kids can learn about everyday science through interactive exhibits and our ever-changing exhibitions.

Great for 4 to 13 year olds, and the party room can accommodate a maximum of 25 children
