About this activity

Lane Cove National Park is close enough to Sydney's city centre to be convenient, but far enough away that it will feel like you have transported yourself to a whole new world!

Lane Cove National Park is where you and the family can escape into a world of nature and wildlife. It's where you can have adventures, create memories, and have a LOT of fun! There might even be some history to learn too....

So let's get exploring!

First, don't forget your hiking shoes, because there are easy terrain trails that you can enjoy, whether on foot, or if you want to take your bike. You can really get lost into nature! If you take the self-guided heritage walk, there is a free map you can pick up, and it will take you past come pretty cool historical sites - all within the national park!

There is plenty of wildlife to spot, including that very exciting eastern water dragon, which is a spiny spiky specimen. You'll be able to tell by the black stripes! Of course, there are all those classic Australian favourites to spot too.

If you want to get out on to the water, you can hire canoes which give you a really relaxing activity that you can enjoy with everyone - and see a whole new perspective on the park!

There are picnic tables and barbecues provided, as well as a range of children’s play equipment and vast spaces to run about in playing traditional family games.

So nature is waiting to give you a great family day out, so there is only one thing left to do....let's get out there!
